How we started

Indexed began in college in 2016 as an art collective called Unoriginal, initially centred on small cultural experiments and informal research into how Irish culture was moving online.

Alongside this, the individuals behind the project were working across film and media, producing short films, music videos, and graphic design work that explored similar themes through visual storytelling.

Travel and living abroad further shaped this understanding of culture as fluid, contextual, and constantly changing. Together, these influences helped Indexed be created, documenting Irish culture across media, place, and time, and examining how it continues to evolve both at home and abroad.
